Birchard Garfield Yocum, born in Huntington, Pennsylvania, 1879. Volunteered from Reno, Nevada, November 16, 1917.

Served in Company A, 27th Engineer Regiment until death. Went over-seas February 27, 1918. Killed in action in Meuse-Argonne Offensive, October 3, 1918. Person notified of death, Miss Rosa Yocum, sister, Cluver, Kansas. All efforts to establish communications with relatives or friends have failed. Private Yocum’s name is on the Washoe County Roll of Honor.
